Tourism Staycation Campaign

Marketing Cheshire // Visit Chester & Cheshire
THE CHALLENGE

Following the lifting of Coronavirus restrictions in England, destinations were able to begin welcoming visitors one again. As the official tourist board for Chester & Cheshire, Marketing Chester needed to develop a marketing campaign which would support all sectors of the visitor economy, including accommodation, attractions, outdoor spaces, food and beverage, and retail. 

THE DELIVERY
  • As marketing lead, I coordinated a project team of 6, including digital, PR and creative to deliver 24 content pieces across the campaign

  • In collaboration with the creative team, I delivered a campaign concept using the ampersand from the 'Visit Chester & Cheshire' logo, to create a relevant, visual representation of the breadth of experiences within the destination

  • Campaign targeting was defined based on a UK domestic audience, and segmented based on demographic interests such as luxury breaks, adventure & outdoors, family friendly 

  • The campaign was distributed across website and online, delivering a growth in new website visits by 87%, organic and paid social media, national travel PR, and content rich blog features
